Sunday Snapshot: Gone But Not Forgotten at Berea Cemetery
Gone but not forgotten, Martha’s headstone is slowly being enveloped by the earth.
In 1857, the Associated Reformed Presbyterians founded the town of Berea in southwestern Franklin County. Less than three decades later, the settlement followed the railroad to nearby Richmond. Once the main street through Berea, Ohio Terrace is now lined with farm fields. Only the cemetery remains, ensuring the town is not completely forgotten.
